The first meeting of the participants of the Erasmus+ Sport Project

The first meeting of the participants of the Erasmus+ Sport Project, entitled “Para table tennis as a tool for social integration of people with disabilities” in Novi Sad, Serbia, funded by the European Union.

Table tennis players from Serbia and Poland met in Serbian Novi Sad for the first meeting as part of the project, funded by the European Union, aimed at social integration and activation of athletes with disabilities through table tennis.

Date and place: 5-13/03/2023, Novi Sad (Serbia)

Agenda:

05/03/2023 – Arrival at the Paralympic Preparation Center in Wisła.

06.03.2023 – Departure for a training camp to Serbia (bus + car).

07.03.2023 – Two table tennis trainings.

08.03.2023 – Two table tennis trainings. Meeting for coffee at the market in Novi Sad.

09.03.2023 – One table tennis training. Integration by watching together an international handball match – qualifiers for the European Handball Championship: Serbia – Norway.

10.03.2023 – International match in Para table tennis: Serbia vs Poland.

11.03.2023 – One table tennis training. Shopping in the center of Novi Sad.

12/03/2023 – Sightseeing of monuments in Novi Sad.

March 13, 2023 – End of the training camp.

Report from the meeting:
The participants of the Project have completed the first training and meeting with the Serbian national team.
Together with Serbian coaches, they have conducted para table tennis trainings. At the end, they played an international match between Serbia and Poland. The hosts won 30:22.
It was a very varied training for tabla tennis players. The learned new types of exercises and exchanged views on training methods with local trainers.

In the breaks from classes, they visited the city center and the most interesting monuments in Novi Sad. There was also time for shopping in local stores. Every day in the restaurant they tried regional dishes, not only Serbian, but also from the entire Balkans.

In addition, the participants of the Project were invited to an international handball match between Serbia and Norway. They could observe the best European players up close. All Project meeting aims have been achieved.
